WELCOME VOLUNTEERS

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for our league!! At ARS we rely on parent/family volunteers to coach teams. We provide the equipment and some information to get started and you provide the time.

How long is the season?
Spring Season is mid March (after Spring Break) thru late March (week before Memorial Day).

What is required of me as a Coach or Co-Coach?
-
All Coaches must complete a "Safe Soccer" Checklist which includes a background check.
-
Coaches hold one practice per week and have one game (usually on Saturday mornings*).
-
Coaches communicate with the team weekly about practices, weather updates and game reminders. This is a task that can be delegated to a team parent as well.
Should I be a Coach or a Co-Coach?
A Coach will be coaching the team alone. He or she may have a team/parent to help with communication but they are responsible for the team independently.
A Co-Coach coaches with another parent on the team. Some spouses or family members team up to do this together so they have back up. This is also a great option to coach with a neighbor or family friend with kids the same age that wish to play together.

When are practices?
Practice is held once a week (weather permitting). Coaches choose their practice day (Mon - Thurs) and their time slot (5:30 or 6:30). This can be a great perk if you have multiple kids/sports or a busy schedule. Once your spot is chosen that is your practice time for the season. Practices are 45 minutes to an hour depending on age group.
